FoodBooth FAQ
Twelve straight answers.
Is FoodBooth a POS or an accounting system?
No. Reporting and settlement only: it takes no orders, replaces no cashier, and does no accounting, inventory, payroll or ZATCA invoicing. It reads what your systems already produce and exports the journal to your accounting system.
Do I need API access from Jahez or HungerStation to start?
No. You start with the files you download from the app's portal. API figures are expected at order time; the settlement statement is the actual figure. We keep both and show the gap. An API-only integration would have reported 16%.
Does AI produce the numbers?
No. Money is computed by deterministic code, and every figure leads back to its file row. AI only recognises file layouts and matches product names; it never produces or alters a financial figure. The decisive test: a real month matching a manual total to the halala, which held on 43 of 43 orders.
What does it cost?
No public price yet. A company-level subscription sized by outlets (one outlet is one brand at one branch), monthly or yearly, with an SLA; never charged by channel or user. Every feature on every size; sizes differ by the number of open outlets and the support level. The proposal comes after a live reconciliation of your month and states whether the price includes VAT. How the size is set
Which apps work today?
Jahez files, the financial and transactions reports, and the receiving API for your POS. HungerStation, Keeta, Mrsool and POS files as sample files arrive; order feeds after each platform's approval. Status per channel
Who owns my data?
You do. Full export in open formats at any time and at contract end, written into the terms. When the subscription ends, a grace period starts. After the grace period the account becomes read-only, then the data is hidden after a period set in your contract. It is never deleted except at your written request, and you can always export your data.
Is there an API?
Yes, live now: POST /api/v1/orders with one key per connected system from Settings. The same payload sent ten times makes one row. Up to 1,000 orders per call and 120 calls a minute. Documentation in Arabic inside the app.
What roles and permissions exist?
Owner, manager, accountant, view-only, and a custom role built from seven permissions. Any user can be scoped to some outlets only. An accountant serving several restaurants has one login and switches between them.
Does it work with my POS?
With any POS: Foodics, Marn, a local system, or none. We replace none and favour none, and a restaurant that changes POS keeps its history. Today: the receiving API for your POS vendor is live; daily sales files follow as sample files arrive.
How is VAT handled?
The journal has a "prices include VAT" setting and the 15% split, only if you are VAT-registered; the accounting decision stays with your accountant. The VAT basis per channel and the tax-invoice number on the entry: in development. For the subscription itself, the proposal states whether the price includes VAT.
What is not built yet?
As of 7 October 2026: the morning summary by email and WhatsApp, any email from the platform, the company inbox for statements, the HungerStation, Keeta, Mrsool and POS parsers, items and costs and true profit, the cloud-brand switch, Hijri dates, the settlement and cash view, self-service payment, and password reset by email. All in development, with no date until one is confirmed.
When do you reply, and who do I contact when something breaks?
In writing at [email protected], answered within one business day. During the pilot you deal directly with the person who reconciled your month. There is no night line yet; when there is, it appears here. A forgotten password is reset today by the account owner, until reset by email arrives.
